Le Nord + + 12 August 2008
今年のバースデーはフランス北部＆ベルギーの旅に。車で国境を行ったり来たりしながら、飲んで食べてのんびり過ごすことができた。フランス側リールの近く、ローベイにある昔のプールを改装した美術館にふらっと寄ったのだけど、昔からの建造物をうまく残してモダンな美術館に改装していて面白かった。 Finally I decided to go to the North of France and Belgium to celebrate my birthday this year : ) During the stay, we drive arond the border between Belgium and France and eat/drink a lot. One of the day, I visited a museum in Roubaix, near Lille. The place used to be a swimming pool and the architecture there which is modanised and remaining the old part is very interesting for me. |

Eventually...Sketch + + 15 June 2008
昨日の夕方ウエスト・エンドへ行き、酔った勢い（？）でコンデュイット・ストリートにあるスケッチに潜入。ここは数年前にオープンしたショップで、中に入るとパーラー、バー、レストラン、ギャラリーがあるセレブな空間。土曜の騒がしい街から逃げ込んで、優雅にチーズをちびちび食べながら赤ワインのボトルを空け、今まで縁がなくてついに来れたというのと、穴場を見つけられた事にかなり大満足。ちなみにここ、トイレは巨大卵の中でします（写真右。暗いけど。）。 I went to West End last night and got to be generous after a couple of drinks then went to Sketch in Conduit Street. This place opend a few years ago and there are parlour, bar, restaurant and gallery in a posh building. Escaping from London's hassling bassling shopping area, we had a tasty bottle of red wine with some cheese and I found that this place is very good to relax and was happy to manage to come as I have been trying to! Anyway, you have to relieve yourself in a giant egg : ) |

Evidemment, j'etais la!! + + 25 May 2008
イギリスは今週末祝日で３連休！なので懲りずにまたパリへ。今回は仕事後のユーロスターで、到着時間がかなり遅くなるため、セレブ風に食事付のファーストクラスに乗車。予想通り、シャンペン飲み放題で北駅についた時はかなりいい気分。周りの人はたぶんニヤニヤしながら歩いている謎の東洋人を見て怪しいと思っていたハズ。翌日は,前々回スト、前回病気リタイアで行けなかったアンヴァリッドでナポレオンの墓を見て、なかなか会えなかったよき友人とお茶をして、日本の友人が紹介してくれたとっても素敵な人が美味しいゴハン屋さんに連れていってくれ、かなり充実の旅になった。しかしフランス人男性はみんな優しい。ジェントルマン率の高さは絶対に世界一なハズ。そんなわけで、帰ってきたばかりだけどもう恋しい街なのだ。 It's a bank holiday weekend! So, as you guesed, I went to PARIS!! This time I had to jump onto a Eurostar after work and the arrival time was very late therefore I'd booked a first class ticket in order to have a meal on board. But the problem was I had a lot of free champaigne and ended up being drunk! Probably people thought that I was a dodgy oriental girl! The following day, I went to Invalides, which I couldn't go in the last two visit in Paris - because of a massive strike in November and my illness in March, and managed to see a tomb of Napoleon. After that, I had some coffee with a very nice friend who I haven't seen for long time. Also, one of my friends from Japan introduced his friend in Paris and she took me to very nice restaurants (thanks!). It was a very short trip though, I had a really good time there. By the way, everytime I go to Paris, this makes me think - how nice French blokes are!! I'm sure France is the best country that the percentage of "Gentlemen"! Anyway, they are the reasons why I already miss this town ; ) |

Thoughtful 10th Anniversary + + 10 May 2008
なんと今日は2008年5月10日。すっかり忘れてたけど、ちょうど10年前の今日からロンドンでの生活がはじまったのだ。10年前の自分と今の自分を比べてみると、ハッキリ言って全然変わっていない。だけど日本にいたら絶対に出会わない素敵な事もあったし、逆にこんなひどい思いするならロンドンなんか来なきゃよかったと思った事もあり、総合するといろいろな意味で勉強になり、濃い人生経験を積めた10年間だったのだと思う。改めて、突然英国へ飛び立ったのにもかかわらず、暖かく見守ってくれてた家族、友人、元会社の同僚、そしてロンドンに住み始めてから知り合い、今でも変わらずに支えてくれている人達に感謝。 さて、今から10年後の私はどうなんだろう？とふと考えてみる。・・・たぶん、残念ながら10年後の自分はロンドンに住んでいないと思う。ここ数年はずっと「自分がロンドンに住んでいる意味」というのがずっと頭の中にあり、どんなに考えても私の心がロンドン（英国）に根付くとは思えず。どうやらいずれはさよならを言わないといけない街みたいだ。でもどんな方向に進んでもこの10年間に誇りを持って更なる自分磨きをしないと。 Very surprising that today is Saturday on the 10th of May 2008. I completely forgot but exactly 10 years ago, the 10th of May 1998, I started living here in London! I try to compere with myself 10 years ago and myself now, but I can't find any changes. I had absolutely wonderful experience which I wouldn't experience if I didn't move to the UK. Also I had some terrible things that made me think that I shouldn't have come to London. Based on them, I really learn a lot of things for my life and that decade is definitely valuable for me. Here I really wanna appreciate my family, my old friends, my ex colleagues in Japan and people who we met and still keep being good to me since I moved in London. Anyway, how about in 10 years time, the 10th of May 2018? .... unfortunately, I don't think I will be in London... cause the last 3-4 years, I've been thinking about "The Meaning of Living in London for Me" and I never come to the conclusion that I will live in London (UK) permanently. Seems London is the town I have to say "Good-Bye" one day in the future. But, whatever happens from now on, I will be proud of my 10 year experience and keep improve myself! |

Come on dogs!!! + + 13 April 2008
友人のフランス人が「今週末は超ブリティッシュで。」がテーマだったらしく、ロンドンの東にあるウォルサムストウにあるドッグレースを見に行く事になった。イギリスに長い間住んでいながら、今までドッグレースの存在を全く知らず、ドッグレース場に入って初めて、ゲームごとに賭ける事ができるのを知った。日本で競馬をした事がなかったので初賭けという事になった訳だが、最初に賭けたレースは1ポンドが2.70ポンドに。ちょっと嬉しくなってしまい、次のレースからボールペン片手に真剣にレース表を読んでいたら友人が「アツコ、顔がマジになってる！」と大笑い。次の2レースで2ポンド損失したので初ドッグレースは0.30ポンドの損でこの日はレース場を後にした。たまにはいつもと違う事をするのも楽しいね。 My French friend had a theme of "Do something very British this weekend" and we went to Walthamstow Stadium to watch dog racing. I've been living in the UK for long time but I didn't know about it at all and I noticed everyone bets for the races when I went to the stadium. I haven't bet horse racing in Japan either so this is the first time for me to bet! The first race was a good result - I bet 1 quid then I won 2.70 quid yay : ) After that, I really got into it and started reading a racing chart seriously and my friend laughed at me. The next two raced were not what I bet and I lost 2 quid. My first betting is 0.30 quid lost and I left the stadium. Sometimes it's intersting to do something different from my normal life : ) |

World Package Design 8: United Kingdom + + 7 April 2008
先日友人がイギリスの北、ノーサンバーランドに旅行に行ってきて、お土産にリキュール・ファッジを買って来てくれた。ファッジはイギリスのお菓子で、キャラメルがもっと柔らかくなったようなもの。これをひとかけら、紅茶と一緒に食べる事に幸せを感じたら、あなたも立派なイギリス人。さて、このパッケージ、ケルティックなデザインで色使いがキュート。しかも箱を開けてみてビックリ。防水紙1枚にどーんと1枚大きなファッジの塊が入ってる！ひとかけらの量は自分で調節できるというわけだ。なんて合理的。 One of my best friends went to Northumberland the other day and she brought me a box of fudge on a way back. Fudge is a British sweets and it tastes like a softened caramel sweets. Eating a lump of fudge with a cup of tea - if you find happiness with that, you are a real British ; ) Anyway, this box's got a Celtoc design with cute colours. I was a bit surprised that there was a huge fudge bar lying down on a thin water proof paper inside when I opened the box! So in that case we can help ourselves how much we eat at each tea break. How rational! |

Seven Years and Half + + 28 March 2008
今日付で7年半勤めた会社を退職した。あっという間に時間が経ってしまった感じだけど、辞めるまでの最後の１ヶ月は家族友人や社内スタッフだけでなく、クライアントさんや業者さんまで、しかも老若男女様々な国籍の人達から暖かい言葉をもらって感動。これからは違う環境での生活がはじまり、そんな人達と今まで通り頻繁に接する事ができなくなるのは寂しいけど、今までの経験をバネに、また一歩勇気を持って大きく前に進まないと！ Today, I resigned my job which I've been working for 7 years and half. How quick the time went! In the last one month until today, not only my family/friends but also my clients and suppliers, doesn't matter male/female or their generations geve me warm messages which made me very touched. From now on, I will be in a different environment and it will be very difficult to keep in touch with them regularly like I've been doing though, I would really like to improve my life further with my great experiences with them - will do my best! |

友達のDJ Slippersが今月末ベルリンへ移住する事になったので、壮行会でDJをする事になった。久しぶりだったので最初の1-2曲は緊張しちゃったけど、終わった後、喉が渇いたのでバーでお酒を買ってたら、知らない人から「Thank You!」、「Good Tunes!」と言われて嬉しかった。友達が遠くへ行ってしまうのは寂しいけど、みんなで明るく楽しく送り出す事ができてよかったー♪ Friends of mine, DJ Slippers decided to migrate to Berlin in the end this month, and I was asked to dj at their farewell party. I haven't dj for long time and that made me nervous during the first 1-2 tracks but after finishing my rotation. A few people I haven't met before told me "Thank You!" and "Good Tunes" when I was thirsty and getting some drink. Although this is too sad that my friends are going to far away, it was a good night to see them off, wishing them a new great life in Berlin : ) |

新年おめでとうございます。2007年はあっという間に過ぎ去っていったという感じだったので、今年はもう少しのんびり季節の移り変わりを感じて過ごしていきたいな。さて、ちょうど１年前に立てた豊富だけど… 1. タバコをやめる→はいっ、全く吸ってません、よし♪ 2. お酒は1日スモールグラス2杯までにする→2杯越える日もあったけど、全然飲まない日もあったのでまあ達成かな…（弱気） 3. 最低週１回はジムに行く→うう、調べたところ去年は43回しか行ってないみたい。達成できず。 4. 家でゆっくりする時間を作る→おととしよりは家にいる時間が多かったけど、掃除ばかりしてたので、ゆっくりはできてないなぁ…。 さて、今年の豊富はといいますと…。1. ジムへ週最低１回行く 2. お酒は１日スモールグラス1杯までにする 3. コーヒーの量を減らす。 そして最後の豊富は．．．達成できたらこのページで報告することにします。 皆さま素敵な１年を☆ Happy New Year!!! I cannot yet believe that the year 2007 was finished and we are now in 2008! - the time went so fast! I really hope I can lead a relaxing year, hopefully enjoying each seasons. So, how about my new year resolutions which I made last year??? 1. Quit Smoking --- Yes, done it completely! 2. Drink alcohol up to 2 small glasses per day --- hmmm... sometimes more than 2 glasses though, I didn't drink every day so it should be okay (no excuse!) 3. Going to gym at least once a week --- No! Apparently I attended 43 times last year... couldn't make it! 4. Trying to spare time and relaxing at home --- I would say NO cause I had to do so many house work although I tended to stay at home a lot rather than a year before... And, my resolutions for this year are... 1. Going to the gym at least once a week. 2. Wooow, drinking alcohol up to one small glass a day. 3. I think I've been taking too much coffee so cutting down the amount and drinking infusions instead. ...And the last but not least... I will tell you when I manage to make it - won't tell you now ; ) Anyway, have a wonderful year to all!!! xxx |

Now, I live near Paris. + + 18 November 2007
今週パリに行って来た。11月14日からユーロスターがテムズ河の北、セント・パンクラス駅からの発着となり、所要時間もロンドンーパリ間が2時間15分に短縮（ウオータールー駅発着は11月13日で終了）。自宅がセント・パンクラスまで15分以内で行けるので、家のドアを出てからパリまで3時間を切るようになった。さらに翌日はボジョレー・ヌーボーの解禁で一日中贅沢にワイン三昧。帰りもワインボトルを4本抱えていたものの、駅前から家のすぐ近くまで行くバスに乗って揺られること10分の楽勝帰宅。なんて革命的！！ I went to Paris this week. You may have already known that Eurostar trains are started operating at St. Pancras station from 14th November (Waterloo station services is no longer operated). It takes for 2 hours 15 minutes only from London to Paris. Luckily, my place is very close to St. Pancras and it takes within 15 minutes so it means I can get to Paris from my flat door within 3 hours ; ) Also, the following day was an arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau 2007 and I enjoyed the taste of wine all day long. When back to London, I had 4 bottles of wine though, I got on a bus which goes to near my flat and it took only 10 minutes. What a revolution!! |

きのうロンドンの西、シェパーズ・ブッシュにあるBush HallでBrownswood Recordingsのパーティーがあったので行ってきた。顔ぶれがヤバすぎ。ジャイルス・ピーターソン、ホセ・ジェームス、ソイル＆ピンプ・セッションズ、エラン・メーレーが登場。ソイル＆ピンプのライブ時はホセ・ジェームスが飛び入り登場でコラボを披露してくれてビックリ。 ロンドンってなんて素晴しいんだー！ I went to a party of Browndwood Recordings being held in Bush Hall in Shephard's Bush in West London last night. Guests were absolutely superb - Gilles Peterson, Jose James, Soil & "Pimp" Sessions and Elan Mehler. During a live of Soil and "Pimp", Jose James joined them and had a great collaboration - JUST INCREDIBLE! How cool London is! |

World Package Design 7: Japan + + 30 September 2007
1か月程前に日本から来たクライアントさんに京都のお香を頂いた。小豆色と空色の渋い箱で、これはヨーロッパではなかなかない色の取り合わせだなぁと思いつつ、ずっと使う事ができなかったのだけど、今週末は家でゆっくりできるので焚いてみようと思い箱を開けてみてビックリ。お香が１つずつクッションで包まれていて、和紙のテープで留めてある。しかも受け皿付き。「受け皿に付いたヤニは番茶に浸けるときれいに取れます」とまで書いてある。なんて至れり尽くせりなんだ。今日は美味しい日本茶をいれて、上品な香りに包まれてのんびり本でも読もうっと。 One of my clients gave me a box of incense from Kyoto a month ago. I've been liked the colous of the box - dark brown red and sky blue. I think this colour arrangement is very Japanese and fresh to see it here in Europe. As I was so hectic, I couldn't use it and opened the box today... amazing!! Every single incense is wrapped with small air cusions then taped with Japanese traditional paper (It's called "Washi".) and a small saucer is included.There is also a small note saying "Please soak in Bancha (a type of green tea) when it's got resin." What a warm consideration : ) Right, let's make some green tea and read some books with the sophisticated fragrance. |

World Package Design 6: France + + 28 September 2007
縁起の悪い話だが、もし自分が死んだらこれは棺桶に入れてほしい！！ その名も「ペピト」。フランスでならどこででも買う事ができる何の変哲もないチョコレートビスケットだけど、何年か前に雷に打たれたように恋に落ちてしまった。回りからは「もっと美味しいお菓子があるだろうに」とか「小さい頃は好きだったけどねぇ…」なんて言われるけど、だからどうした？ペピトくんのキュートなパッケージを見ながらティータイムを楽しめればそれで幸せなのさ。今日は意外にもロンドンのコンビニで発見。実は星形のミニ版の方が好きなんだけどね…でもこれでも充分♪ I know this is a very bad joke though, if I died, please, please put this in my coffin!! This is called "Pepito", which can be found easily in shops in France and not anything very special at all to be honest. However, for some reason I fell in love with the sweets long time ago. Everyone says to me like... "Well, but there are many better sweets though..." or, <<Ouais, quand j'etais petit, je l'aimais mais...>> but so what?! It makes me happy to have a cuppa with some of them seeing its cute package. So today, I bumped into this at an off licence in London wow. Actually, my most favourite one is smaller star shaped white choc topped one but this is a lot to me : ) |

100% Design + + 23 September 2007
ロンドンのアールズ・コートで毎年開催されているプロダクト・デザインの展示会、100％Designに学生時代の恩師が参加したので会場にいってきた。先生はライティング部門の100%Lightに出展。ハビタやBBCからも問い合わせがあり人気は上々のよう。７年振りの再会では懐かしい話だけでなく、分野は多少違っても「デザイン」をやってる者同士として、とてもいい話が沢山できた。今回はプロダクトかじってる人なら知らない人はいない、トム・ディクソン氏がこのイベントのクリエイティブ・ディレクター。モチベーションがぐーんと上がった週末だ。 My professor is exhibiting his products in 100% Design this year and I went to the venue. This is the biggest product design event in the UK being held in Earls Court every year and he has a place in a 100%Light section. He's already got queries from Habitat and BBC etc and it seems he succeeds in it very well. Last time I saw him was 7 years ago in Tokyo (gosh!) and this time we talked a lot of things not only when I was a student but some opinions as participating "Design" things although our areas are slightly diffirent. And, a must person for product design, Mr. Tom Dixon is a creative director for this year's 100% - a very motivating weekend! |

World Package Design 5: Sweden + + 19 September 2007
友人が出張先のスウェーデンからお土産にスイーツを買って来てくれた。何も考えずに口に放り込んだら、ウホッ。マ、マズイ．．．そう、これは北欧では有名なお菓子、リコリース飴（甘草）。甘塩辛苦い＋ちょっぴりパスティスの味と言えば想像して頂けますでしょうか？ でも甘草は身体にとてもいいので少しずつ食べ慣れていこうかな : ) さて話はちょっぴり脱線したけれど、この黒い飴が入っている金色の缶、ドイツっぽいカチっとしたイメージに、商品名のフォントは丸っとしててフシギな取り合わせ。なかなか侮れないっす。 A friend of mine went for a business trip to Sweden and bought me a tin of sweets. I didn't know what it was when I ate it and realised that how strange taste it was!!! So, this is called "Liquorice" - it tastes like... hmm... salty bitter sweet + a hint of pastis?!? But apparently this is very good for health so why not getting used to it? : ) And the main point is that, its packaging is very mascurine like German design and adding some feminine round letters - I quite impressed the combinations though. |

今日はロンドン・ブリッジ駅近くにある手術博物館に行って来た。近くにあるセント・トーマス病院が19世紀に実際使ってていた手術室で、当時は麻酔もなく、何人もの人に押さえつけられながら苦しんでいる患者の絵や、かなり大きなノコギリが並んでいて「うわぁぁぁ．．．」と思いながら見学。昔の人にはゴメンナサイなのだけど、今の医療技術の時代に生まれてよかった…。歴史的に貴重な展示もあるのでイタイのが大丈夫な方は是非どうぞ。 I went to The Old Operating Theatre near London Bridge Station today. In the 19th Century, this place used to be an actual operation theatre of St. Thomas Hospital which is now situated very closed to this museum. Inside is a bit bizarre as there are big saws and some pantings of a patient who's holded by people and writhering in a operation (no anaesthesia at that time...ooooo : /). I feel very sorry for that but I'm glad I am alive now with the current medical technology... Well, but, of course there are some tools and information which are very historical and important. If you are okay for these painful stuff, why don't you visit there? |

World Package Design 4: Poland + + 7 July 2007
EU圏拡大に伴ってロンドンはここ数年でポーランドからの移民が増えてきた。さっき家の近所で買物をしていたら、こじんまりしてるけどいい雰囲気のポーランド・デリを発見。牛乳パック達がかわいくて思わずひとつ買ってしまった。色使いが意外と派手で素敵だわ。お店のお姉さんも見た目はツンとした感じだけど喋ったら気さくな人だったし。また行こうっと。 As expansion of EU countries, a number of Polish people has been increasing here in London. Today, I found a new Polish deli when I had a shopping around my place. It doesn't have trendy trendy look though, the shop looks very cute and cozy so I popped in there. There are cool coloured milk packages and I bought one of them. A shop assistant looks a bit cold thouhgh, she actually talked me in a friendly way : ) Will go there again! |

Non Smoking + + 2 July 2007
ついにイングランドも7月1日から公共の建物の中での禁煙が施行された（スコットランド、アイルランドは既に施行済）。私は一足お先に去年から禁煙しているので、吸ってないのにパブやレストランに出かけた帰りに髪や服に臭いがついているあの不快感から解放されてうれしい。喫煙者はこれから家や公共の建物の外でタバコを吸わないといけなくなるのだけど、吸い殻をどうするかの指導もきちんとしてほしいところ。それでなくてもロンドンは既にゴミ捨てのマナーが劣悪だし…。ナショナル・ヘルス・サービスの今後の動向に目を向けておかないと。 Finally, from the 1st of July 2007, England has become a smoke free in public premises (Scotland and Ireland already banned). I'm so happy that my clothes and hairs are no longer stink any more after staying restaurants and pubs - I stopped smoking since last year and these kind of smell by someone else was really annoying. So, people have to smoke in outside the building or at their home but I think the problem is how people sort out ashes... well, London is very infamous for rubbish manors already and NHS should advertise that we should clean street or provide portable ashtreys etc. I keep an eye on their smoke free campaign projects. |

Sonar Kollektiv at Art Vinyl Gallery + + 31 May 2007
いま密かに流行りだしてきたイースト・エンドにあるブロードウェイ・マーケット。その中にあるArt Vinyl GalleryでSoner Kollektivのエキシビションが始まった。 初日の今日はJazzanovaがゲストのオープニングパーティーでゲストに入れてもらったので行ってきた。 前からココのフレーム型レコ入れが気になっていたのだけど、オーナー曰く、１つのフレームに3枚ぐらいは入るらしい。これらを背にDJするなんて素敵。ただ問題は自宅にこんなに沢山フレームを貼れるスペースがない事なんだけどね。 Broadway Market is one of the area which is becoming trendy slowly. In that street, there is a gallery called Art Vinyl. Soner Kollektiv's exhibition started and there was Jazzanova's DJ set for that opening party today. I got my name on the guest list so went there. I've been interested in their vinyl frames and according to this owner, we can put a couple of vinyls in one frame - how cool if they were behing whilst DJing! Well, the only problems is there is no space to put the frames at my place though... |

World Package Design 3: Spain + + 20 May 2007
スペインのホワイトチョコがコーティングされたピーナッツ、Conguitos。眩しいオレンジにナゾのキャラクターが表面からはみ出てレイアウトされているのが大胆でステキ。しかし唇が厚いなあ。そしてチョコの一粒一粒にもこのキャラクターがプリントされていてなかなか芸が細かい。食べる時なんだかカワイソウ。 Here is a packet of peanuts coated with white chocolate. It's called Conguitos. This caracter is printed off centre of bright orange background, how dynamic! and how thick his lips are! Anyway, his face is printed each piece of chocolate so I feel a bit guilty when I munch them down. |

最近メガネちゃんデビューをしたばっかりなのに、ひょんな事からコンタクトレンズを使ってみる事になった。早速会社の昼休みに保存用具を買いに行ったのだけど、スーパードラッグのパッケージが視力検査表のデザインになってるのを発見。通常パッケージデザインはブーツの方がイケてるけど、この字間・行間具合が何だか素敵だわ。 I started waring glasses recently and never thought about that though, I had an oppoutunity to try contact lenses. I went out to find a bottle of solution and a case then found Superdrugs package design is like an eyesight test. Normally Boots's package design is much better than SD's but the typography of the products is superb, I like it : ) |

イースターホリデーと有給を使ってパリとルーアンに行って来た。今回のテーマは「何もしない」。パリで私の一番好きな場所、チュイルリー庭園でロラン・バルトの本を読んだり、パリ郊外に新しくできた現代美術館、MAC/VALの建築を観てきたり（残念ながら展示物はあまり好きになれなかった）、ルーアンに住んでいる友人達とカフェで夜遅くまで喋ったり。誰からも何からも急かされなくていいんだと感じる瞬間が嬉しかった。この１年間は自分と時間との戦いで本当に自分に自信がなくなっていたけれど、何となくこれから自分が次にどこへ進むべきか、今回の滞在で見えてきたような気がした。 Using Easter weekend with some my paid holiday, I went to Paris and Rouen. The theme of this trip was "doing nothing". Whilst I was staying, I read a book of Roland Barthes in my favourite place Jardin des Tuileries, went to a new modern museum MAC/VAL in suburb of Paris to see its architecture (unfortunately, the exhibitions inside were not my cup of tea) then talked about many things with friends at a cafe in Rouen until very late. Nobody and nothing hassled me at all - that's not a big thing but that moment made me really happy. As I was struggling with myself and time, I've been losing my confident completely in the last 12 months. However, I think I eventually managed to find out where I should go during my stay, un petit peu. |

New Design of 20 Pound Note + + 4 April 2007
昨日友人と食事して、支払い時に20ポンド札が新しいデザインになった事を知った。どうやら先月から流通してるらしい。なにしろ財布はいつも5ポンド＆10ポンド札が基本なもので…。新紙幣は偽造防止策がかなり取り入れられて裏面は社会科の授業でおなじみの経済学者、アダム・スミス氏が印刷されております。今回の大幅なデザイン変更に踏み切ったって事はこの国がユーロ通貨を採用するまではまだまだ程遠いのね。。。 I had a dinner with one of my friends last night and found that the design of 20 pound note had been changed when we paid a bill. Apparently it released from last month - well...as there's always only a fiver or a tenner in my wallet so I didn't know that : p The new one's got a lot of forgery protections and there is a super famous economist Adam Smith's portrait printed on reverse. Bank of England decided to do major design change - that means we won't use Euro currency near the future I guess. Hmmmm... |

会社の人がベルナール・フォコンの写真集を貸してくれた。彼のマネキンコレクションがテーマなのだけど、なかなかマニアックで思わずニヤリとしてしまった。マネキンという服を売っている場所以外にいると気味の悪い物質をうまく演出して撮影しているから。彼の写真をゆっくり観ながらコーヒーを飲む。贅沢な日曜日の午後。 My colleague lent me a photography book of Bernard Faucon. It's about his dummy collections. It normally looks weird when we see dummies outside of clothes shops but his way of photoshooting is very clever and that makes me smile. Looking at his photos drinking some coffee. A very extravagant Sunday afternoon. |

Snooow Time + + 8 February 2007
この冬は暖かいまま終わっちゃうのかな？と思ってたらついに。朝子供が外で大騒ぎする声で起きたら降ってる降ってる！周りが雪で白く覆われててやっと冬らしくなったってカンジ。でもこのままドカドカ積もるのかと思ったのに仕事が終わって会社を出たらすっかり融けていた。うーん、なんかスノーマンの最後のページと読んだ時と同じ寂しい気分．．．。 I thought this winter wouldn't be very cold but eventually! Woke up this morning with kids shouting outside then looked out from a window - woo hoo it was snowing! Everywhere was covered up by whitie which was brill. However, although we expected it would continue for all day, it had melted by the time I finished work... hmmm, I have the same feeling when I read the last page of The Snowman, too soon to disappear! : ( |

日本から帰ってきました。お正月っていうのもあるんだろうけど、とにかく1日中食べた飲んだ。そして１年で一番日本らしい事をする事ができた。さて５日遅れの新年の豊富なんだけど… 1. タバコをやめる（これ毎年言ってるけど、今回珍しく半年続いているので頑張って現状維持！）2. お酒は1日スモールグラス (175ml) 2杯までにする 3. 最低週１回はジムに行く 4. 家でゆっくりする時間を作る …こんなところでしょうか？ みなさんも素敵な１年をお過ごしください : ) Happy New Year! I've come back from Japan. As I stayed there at new year's day, I ate a lot and did so many things which are very Japanese (like going to temples etc...). Anyway, 5 days late though, here are my new year's resolutions in 2007... 1. Quit Smoking - I know I say this every year but this time I've been stop smoking for nearly 6 months. Will continue this! 2. Drink alcohol up to 2 small glasses per day 3. Go to gym at least once a week 4. Try to spare time to relax at home... that's all, hope I can do that...
